I Heart Faces....Pets!

This week's challenge over at I Heart Faces is pet themed!  Meet my BFF (best furry friend) Penelope!  She is the sweetest, laziest, most clumsy cat you will ever meet.  She is a purebred Ragdoll, but I'm pretty sure she thinks she's a dog.  What other cat plays fetch, begs, shakes paw, comes when you call her name, and greets you at the door when you come home?  My 7 year old loves her a little to much, but Penny has shown great patience with her.  We couldn't ask for a better pet =)

I don't know what it is about getting shiny new business cards, letterhead, and other business *stuff* that gets me so excited.  I guess after spending hours deciding between two shades of blue that my husband insists is the same color (which they are not!  I keep telling him, its a subtle difference.)  {Insert my husband's eye roll **here**} its exciting to see the final product.   Maybe its because I love opening packages,  especially from one of my print houses that packs a lollipop with every order. (Seriously, who doesn't love getting a surprise lollipop?!)  Maybe I just like saying hi to the fedex man and offering him coffee cause its so darn cold out. (To be fair, I also bring coffee to the mailman, ups dude, and my daughter's bus driver.  If you're dropping off packages or my kid in this weather, I think I can give ya a cup of coffee to say thanks.)  Whatever it is, I just can't quit.  Thankfully UPS will be here tomorrow with my next "fix".  Next week I'll post some pictures of my posh new cards & packaging =)

I {heart} Faces, Innocent Wonder

This week's theme at I heart faces is "innocent wonder" and I immediately thought of one of my favorite baby clients!  This was taken 2 weeks ago during her first birthday session.  Head on over to I Heart Faces and check out the other entries =)

New Website!

I signed up for a new website today!  Woohoo!  What's so different about the new site?  Well, first off, it's a flash site.  Cool, right?!  Next it has a bunch of features in it that are great for my clients - like viewing their photos larger, easier ordering, and a handy dandy calendar so you know if I'm free or not =)  Then there's all the features I'm going to love - super customized layouts, easier loading of photos in galleries, plus a bunch more things to make my work life a little easier =)  It's going to take a couple of days to get things set up so in the meantime you can still find me at my old site http://www.jaynemalsburyphotography.com/.   Now if only Verizon would announce they're going to offer iphones....oh wait.  That news came out 2 hours ago!  Woohoo!!  It's a very happy day for me =)

I Heart Faces - Smile!

So this is my very first entry to the I Heart Faces weekly challange!  Go me =)  This week's theme is "Smile" and the very first photo I thought of was from a shoot in December with with an adorable baby girl!  At first she wasn't into having her own personal photographer, but as soon as I brought out some of my props she was over the moon happy!!  Here she is super excited after I showed her one of the star ornaments in my "bag of tricks".

I {heart} January!

My husband works in retail, and the last 3 months of every year take their toll on our family with longer hours and crazy schedules.  This was my first holiday season in the photog business, so needless to say my house has been neglected by both of us.  Thankfully the crazy holiday season is behind us and my favorite month is here!  January brings the promise of familiar routines, family dinners, & clean closets :o)


New year means new changes in business, too!  I have a new logo that I'm just loving.  A new computer (and a not so lovely story of my old computer crashing forcing me to buy a new one a week before Christmas... eek!), new goals to meet, and fabulous new products for my lucky lucky clients :o)  Check out my new logo on my website at http://www.jaynemalsburyphotography.com/
